Donald Trump
His eccentricities, antics and swirly-whirly hair will always be part of his persona. Donald Trump remains to be the foremost figure in the casino gambling industry. This eminent real estate mogul is also a major player in the casino gambling business. At the core of his stakes in the gaming business is of course The Trump casino, which is a popular brand globally. Amid the major changes in the casino gambling industry and with the impending changes in US regulations, Trump has taken the initiative and entered into a joint venture arrangement with Marc Lasry through his Avenue Capital Group.
Trump attributes the continuing success and growth of his business empire to proper branding. Trump believes that the driver of his business success is the right branding and expects that the joint venture between Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. and Avenue Capital Group will create the synergy that will push his casino business to new heights.
Stanley Ho
Stanley Ho is considered as one of Macau’s richest residents. His business empire is estimated to be about $7 billion, and he is one of the most competitive players in the gaming business aside from being the acknowledged father of Macau’s gambling industry. Beyond his stakes in Macau’s casino business, Ho is also considered as a major player in Macau and Hong Kong mainstream business. Earning the moniker of King of Gambling, Ho is known for his ostentatious and opulent lifestyle and is father to some 17 children. He loves to be surrounded by gorgeous women and enjoys the thrill and excitement of outdoor adventures and tennis. Interestingly, ballroom dancing is also one of his favorites.
The opulent and impressive Lisboa Hotel is the flagship product of his gambling business in Macau and he also has business stakes in Toronto and Vancouver. His most recent project, the Grand Lisboa, which was formally launched just recently, is his biggest business venture as of yet. The Grand Lisboa is Ho’s response to the influx of other major players in the highly lucrative gambling business in Macau. With the entry of marquee casino operators like MGM Resorts International, Ho is taking the competition head on.
The Grand Lisboa was constructed on an old football pitch. This bustling 40-story hotel and casino complex is linked with the original Lisboa by a footbridge. Stanley Ho’s Estoril-Sol holds majority stakes of the project with Amorim holding minority stakes.
Stanley Ho also has major stakes in various online casino projects which used live gaming technology as their main attraction. Starting with a live game console that was a bit over board for slow nodal servers, Ho subsequently shifted servers in later live casino versions that were able to address this problem.
Steve Wynn
Steve Wynn can be best described as a casino operator extraordinaire. In fact, he has been bestowed with the unofficial title of King of Las Vegas. It was during the latter part of the 90s that Wynn went on a buying binge and refurbished several hotel-casino complexes in Vegas. Included in this bevy of Vegas casinos is the Bellagio, easily the centerpiece of Wynn’s casino business empire in Las Vegas. Industry experts estimate his Vegas casino business to be worth about $1.3 billion.
Aside from Las Vegas, Wynn also bought properties in various cities worldwide, refurbished them and sold them for substantial profit. A quick-witted and calculating business mogul, Wynn owns major stakes in large casinos in Las Vegas and Macau.
